Get to Know Me - 10 Facts

It has been so cold here in Toronto that I've barely been able to leave my house. I've felt so unaccomplished not being able to post on here and sharing my outfits with you guys. They are saying it will be a bit warmer next week so fingers crossed the weather stays at a decent temperature. Since I've been trapped inside my house I thought I would share some facts about me so that you get to know me a bit getter!
1. My favourite movies are Funny Face and Grease. Funny face is iconic for anyone who loves fashion or photography! and Grease is one of my moms favourite movies so i've watched it over 100 times throughout my childhood, its always been a running joke in my house that someone is always watching Grease.
2. I LOVE chips haha its usually my snack of choice and I will usually choose it over anything. My faves are Doritos and sour cream and onion ruffles.
3. I've never died my hair. When I was in high school me and a bunch of girls bleached some strands on the inside of our hair in cosmetology class. That way when you put my hair up you would see them but when your hair was down they were less noticeable. At the time it was a LOOK but looking back on it our cosmetology teacher was right we all looked like skunks lol
4. My Birthday is June 1st. It's the perfect day because its far away from all the other holidays and the weather is warm without it being too hot. I also share a birthday with Marilyn Monroe.
5. I've never felt "at home" in this time period. To the point of tears...  I've always dreamed of living in the 50's-60's but I'd be fine with anything below the 1970's. I don't know we live in such a strange time with all these technological advances which, in my opinion, complicate things rather than facilitate our lives.  I could talk about this topic forever but i'll spare you my rant lol

6. I have a strong belief in Ghosts and the Paranormal. I've actually had my own experiences, when I was a child, my house in Peru was haunted we had a priest come in and everything. Once we sold the house no one ever moved in and it's been vacant ever since... it remains empty.
7. I am a city person,  going to an all inclusive on the beach sounds so bring to me. A weekend at the beach is my max. I would rather explore a new city and go to museums and see old architecture.
8. When I graduated high school it dawned on me that I would never be the "new girl" and have some amazing "new school" experience. I think I watch too many movies lol... I still think about it sometimes.
9. I'm a hopeless Romantic, I love love! Nowadays people are so afraid to show that they are in love and I don't understand why. If you are in love show the world! People act embarrassed or don't want to seem like they care too much. it's so strange because everyone wants their significant other to do these romantic gestures and to make them feel like the most important person in the world, yet they wont do that themselves. How can you expect something from someone when you yourself don't do it? we live in a weird time.
10.  I'm not a foodie. Food doesn't really excite me tbh lol, I eat it to survive. Obviously there are foods I like and some I dislike but I don't think about food throughout the day, if anything its an inconvenience to stop what I'm doing to eat a meal.

I hope you guys like these super random facts about me haha, tell me something about yourself in the comments below !  I would love to get to know you guys more ! :)

Cream and Beige

First outfit post of 2019 ! I always forget that winter technically starts at the end of December, meaning the worst months are ahead. But to be honest I can deal with the cold its the snow I can't handle. You can always add more layers if you are cold but the snow limits what shoes you can wear. So far we've bene really lucky and its been fairly mild (I didn't even wear socks with my shoes yesterday). For this outfit I am wearing this this cream coloured double breasted jacket (Link here!) and it is from Shein its the perfect jacket when you want to wear lighter tones but its winter! Just so you know I'm not sure if I've mentioned it but you can use the code Q1carol10 to get 10% off the Canadian Shein website ! (Send me pictures if you buy anything I want to see your outfits!!!) I wore this thick knit turtleneck sweater that kept me nice and cozy, this sweater is from Forever 21 and its perfect for walking around the city OR any upcoming ski trip you have coming up! As for pants I wore these straight leg printed pants from H&M that I've had for a few years, they are seriously the most comfortable pair of pants I own! For a little pazzaz I grabbed this faux fur shawl and draped it over my shoulder and of course no winter outfit is complete without a hat! Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments below

2018 Favourite Posts

2018 Was a strange year for me, the first half was a amazing !  Filled with fun projects and opportunities and just a great time all around. The second half was a little more difficult in my personal life, which made it difficult to post content sometimes. However on the second half since I wasn't able to post as often I focused on creating some more creative content and focused a lot more on the photography aspect of it. I thought I would do a roundup of my favourite posts of 2018!

My favourite look from January is Jukebox baby (Link here) Had such a great time shooting at Sonic Boom, a record store in the city.

For my favourite post from February, I chose Red and Audrey (Link here) it was one of the first posts of the year that I shot myself which allows for more time being spent on working on the photos and gives me an opportunity to get the photos I want to create.

March was a bit of a warmer month so we got a little glimpse of Spring, My favourite post was Gingham and red (Link here). You can never go wrong with wearing red, blue and white!

April I pulled out this Orange look for Orange Coat (Link here). Orange is such an underrated (And sometimes looked down on) colour, but I personally LOVE it!

With the flowers blooming in May it inspired this 1950's inspired look ! Green floral dress (Link here) might be one of my favourite looks of the year!

Whats better than a vintage looking white dress filled with detail? Absolutely nothing ! I am obsessed with this dress and I cant wait to wear it again ! June favourite is definitely Vintage feels (Link here)

In July I had the opportunity to visit the HMCS Haida, A boat that participated in World War 2. It was an incredible opportunity so of course this was my favourite post of the year.  Visiting the HMCS Haida (Link here)

Octobers Look is so GROOVY !  I love it ! This crushed velvet dress paired with a white blouse and white gogo boots is the perfect combination !  Blue Velvet (link here) is also one of my favourite looks !

New Years Lookbook

New Years is just around the corner with only a few days left, so I thought I would bring you some outfit inspiration to ring in the new year! As many of us do, I love wearing sparkly clothes on New Years ! I was lucky enough to find some amazing pieces this year starting with this burgundy sparkly matching set from Forever 21. I Picked it up on Black Friday and I knew it was the perfect piece for New Year. What makes it more exciting is that its  also something I could wear throughout the year. I wore the set with a short burgundy (Faux) fur shawl which I think gave the look a more 1970's feel to it! Another one of my favourite pieces is the silver sequin dress, I picked it up from Zara back in the fall and I've saved it for this time of year because its perfection !!!  I Hope I get more occasions to wear it because its such a showstopper ! I love the way it looks layered over a (short sleeved) turtleneck and  with some white boots! I added some big white circle earrings to give the look a more 1960's vibe! Last but not least there is the fringe dress!  I found this dress at the thrift store for like $13, which for the thrift store its a bit pricey... but I thought it was so much fun that I couldn't pass it up!  For extra warmth I grabbed a big white (Faux) fur shawl and added a pearl necklace for a feminine touch!  I hope you like the looks !  if you want to see them in action check out the video below! And of course I hope you have an amazing new year!!

Christmas Lookbook 2018

It's the most wonderful time of the year! and of course our outfits have to be perfect! This year I am sharing three different looks varying from casual to fancy depending on your mood or festive occasion!  Starting with the most dressed up of the three, the red dress. Everyone always saying you need a little black dress in your closet, well the same can be said about a classic red dress. This dress from Metisu is my favourite !  I love the 1950's style silhouette  and the detail draping over the shoulders. It makes me feel like I'm going to the theater or the ballet (OK a little dressed up, but can we all agree that we should wear gowns to these types of performances ?) This dress is also perfect for any big fancy holiday party you might be attending, especially when paired with these heels. I opted for some smaller heels because I think it adds to the vintage vibe of the outfit.
For the second look, you may or may not believe be but this used to be my dress when I was 7!  LOL  it used to be long but I recently had it hemmed so that it would be a bit shorter (for a more 60's vibe.) I layered it over a cream turtleneck from le chateau and added some yellow tights and a matching hat. I also had to incorporate one of my favourite new jewellery pieces! This massive heart shaped locket that I found at an antique market! It's technically a music box so when you open it it plays music.
For the final look I am wearing a colourful green, red and white dress from Shein. It has a sort of  1960's "space-age" feel to it especially when paired with these silver shoes. These shoes are one of my latest purchases, they are from Forever 21 and perfect for this time of year! I also added some red tights to make it a bit more festive.  I hope you guys like these looks, let me know which look is your favourite.
