Tweed and silk

Silk scarves.... where do i even begin.. they are the perfect accessory for any occasion.  They come in a variety of colours so they can be mixed and matched with virtually anything. i Particularly like wearing them as a statement piece and just let them be the center of attention. In this particular outfit i layered it on top of a plain white sweater and some black and white tweed shorts. Since i was wearing black tights i tied to colour back into the outfit by wearing a silk scarf whos main colour was black. Whenever i think of silk scarves i think of my grandmother  and other elegantly dressed older women and if you are anything like me that will serve as huge inspiration. I am constantly looking to the past to see what other women have worn, because as they say fashion trends always come back! not only that but i am always so fascinated by how women dressed before, with such elegance, structure and attention to detail in their outfits and it definitely inspires me. Whenever i see a book with old street stye images i cant help but be amazing at some of these outfits ordinary women wore just to walk around! its the type of elegance i strive for in my every day life.... with a modern twist of course :)
