Perfume collection + Wishlist for 2017!

If there is anything I love more than clothes its perfume !  There is something about putting on perfume that makes me feel so feminine and like an old hollywood actress.  As someone who loves classical films (its all I watch) There is always a scene of the woman sitting at her vanity putting makeup on and finishing off her look with a spritz of perfume.  There used to be such an emphasis on femininity and glamour in past decades that is not as prominent todays society, which is fine, Today women can wear whatever style they want and are not constrained to one specific look. For me personally I love Anything Vintage, girly, frilly and the idea of sitting in a vanity getting ready to go out on a date (it might even be more fun that the date itself.. lol just kidding.) I also love that perfumes can add an extra 'something' to a look and really finish it off.

When I was a tween/teen I went through this phase where I would buy whatever perfume I could get my hands on, mind you they were all from the drugstore because it was all I could afford.  In my last two years of highschool I went through another phase where I wanted to be associated with one particular scent and have a "signature scent" that I would wear for every occasion, The scent I chose was "love spell by victorias secret" (not technically a perfume- body lotion and body mist- but lets just roll with it)   My Boyfriend still recognizes the scent because its all I wore when we first met/started dating,  i'll occasionally wear it when we just lounge around at my house. When I was in college I realized how crazy it was that I would only wear one scent, I loved going into Sephora or any department store and smelling all the perfumes and realized that different occasions call for different perfumes. I decided to start buying them up again but not in the amount in which I did before, but only the ones I truly loved. I still have a "signature scent" perfume that I wear day-to-day which is  Chanels "Coco Mademoiselle" I've gone through I don't know how many bottles of it. If you want to hear more about all of the perfumes in my collection I have linked my youtube video  below where I talk about each one and what I love about it. Followed by links to the perfumes I've been eyeing!

AGO Style | Featuring Adrienne Naval

I recently went to the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) with Adrienne we went to see the "Mystical landscapes" exhibit featuring works from Monet and Van Gogh and many other artist.  Unfortunately you were not allowed to take pictures at that particular exhibit, but we managed to get some pictures in other parts of the gallery.  I am a huge Art History fan, it is something I debated on studying as a life long career. Not only are the works of art beautiful, but I love the idea of seeing the brush strokes and knowing someone physically made them.  I felt this even more so when looking at paintings made by Van Gohn and Monet. While on the topic of paintings my favourite artist is Jean-HonorĂ© Fragonard and my favourite painting is the swing, you may have seen it on my nightstand on my room tour post. The Rococo era is definitely my favourite, The colours, the flowers, beautiful dresses and all about the nobility life is definitely something that interests me! But now I am just side tracking haha

Adrienne and I actually wore matching shirts to the Gallery, but in different colours (because we are cool like that lol)  its fun to see how you can create two completely different looks based on what you pair it with! The shirt is from Zara, but Due to their sale it looks like the white one might be sold out already... but the black one Adrienne is wearing is still in stock and on sale ! if you are interested click here!  Since mine was white I decided to pair it with this beige high waisted skirt... because i am not going to lie I thought it would match the aesthetic of the gallery... yes i am that person.  To dress us the blouse I added 2 brooches which is something i've been really into lately... because whats better than a brooch... 2 brooches.  To keep things simple I wore black tights and a black beret ! If you want to see the details for Adriennes' outfit make sure you check out her post here!

Snow Days

The Holidays are over but Winter is here to stay... so far this year we've been pretty lucky with the weather we've had a few really cold days. Today is one of those days we are currently in a cold weather alert so I will be spending as much time inside as possible haha. You definitely need to bundle up to try to keep yourself warm. For this look I am wearing something a bit more casual than I normally wear.... for starters I am wearing pants which... lets be serious is a rare sighting.  Even tho I am not really a pants person (I definitely prefer skirts and shorts with tights) a classic pair of plain black pants are a necessity in everyones closet, They go with just about anything and you'll 100% find an occasion to wear them. I will admit my pants spend more time sitting in a drawer than on my body but I am always glad to have a pair of black pants when I need them. To keep myself warm I am wearing this thick white knit sweater, and As for my jacket I just picked a plain black coat because I really wanted to play with the accessories!  Now I am not much of a "chunky scarf" "blanket scarf" person but I couldn't resist when I saw it in stores (I actually bought it at the same time as the green beret with the intention of wearing them together!) It gave me such "Friday night football game" vibes, so I just had to get it !

Mini Backpacks are something i've been really into lately! I think they are such a cute accessory and it also prevents you from carrying too much in your purse haha! I find that this season there has been a huge amount selection when it comes to mini backpacks which has made me immensely happy ! I just want to buy them all ! This particular one is velvet which i think gives a really fun texture to the outfit and I just love the green colour. As for my shoes i wanted to introduce another colour but I wanted it to be subtle so I went with grey. These are a pair of high heeled booties i've had in my closet for years! its nice to take them out every once in a while :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead !  as well as I think I am doing some adjustments to the layout of the blog on Sunday so just be aware that it might be under construction :)  But you there is always my instagram!

Carolina Pinglo X WearMe Pro Sunglasses

Sunglasses are often associated with summer due to the late sunsets and beach days. But Sunglasses are also needed in the winter, even tho the amount of daylight hours decreases the sun is still shining bright!  as well as it helps prevent premature aging around the eyes. Sunglasses are also a really fun accessory to spice up your winter wardrobe.  This particular pair  is one of my favourites !  They are from the brand WearMe Pro and  they are the " Averie oversized round horned rimmed sunglasses" in the colour purple and brown with the brown lens. I think what makes this pair of sunglasses unique is the colour of the frame, most of the "tortoise shell type"print sunglasses you see are usually cream and gray/brown or just brown,  but I am obsessed with the purple tones. They can really Transform an outift, a plain cream sweater is the perfect backdrop for these sunnies. Another thing I love about them is the retro 70's vibe you get from them with the round frames, its something i've been really into lately !

For Months if not years !  I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of Black vintage cat eye sunglasses ! This pair is from WearMe Pro  and they are the " Retro 60's style cat eye sunglasses" As a huge classical movie fan (its all I watch! ) you can see why I would grab these gorgeous retro sunglasses made famous by Audrey Hepburn herself, While wearing them I feel like I am having a Breakfast at Tiffanys moment. You also can't go wrong with a pair of classic black sunglasses in the winter!  They match practically everything and in my opinion they are perfect for going to a cute coffee shop or wearing them while shopping on Bloor street.

The last pair of sunglasses is also a cat eye shape, But they are a little bit more unique. They are  from WearMe Pro they are called the "Mila street fashion cat eye sunglasses ". Off the bat I love that the Frame is blue,  As someone who wear a lot of blue in the winter having the option of having dark blue sunglasses is amazing !  This style actually comes in a variety of different colours such as;  Black, Blue, Red, Purple, Tortoise, but the blue one really struck me eye! Another thing I love is the Gold metal hardwear around the lens I think it adds such a modern touch especially when compared to the two pairs of sunglasses I mentioned above!

If you can't pick a favourite and you like all 3 sunglasses you are in luck because WearMe Pro offers subscription boxes "shadebox" That come seasonally - every 3 months- for the amazing price os $29 per season (thats about $10 for each pair of sunglasses) totalling 12 pairs a year. If you are someone who loves sunglasses and having a vast selection a Shadebox subscription is perfect for you! The prices are super affordable and quality of the sunglasses is amazing! WearMe Pro believes that  "quality eyewear shouldn't be exclusive to those who can afford designer labels" And that is something that I can stand behind as well !

Yellow For Good Luck

It has been said that wearing yellow on New Years Eve is meant to bring happiness and prosperity for the upcoming year. I remember as a child my mother telling us to pick something yellow to wear on New Years Eve and that idea has sorta stuck with me throughout all of these years. Now a days I don't wear yellow as a main colour for my new years eve outfit but I do have something yellow on me on New Years weather it be in the form of gold, pompoms on my purse, underwear, or socks there is always something yellow on my person. With that in mind I thought it would be appropriate for my first outfit post of 2017 to be yellow! For this look I wore this Mustard yellow blouse with these gorgeous ruffles along the buttons and I paired it with a pleated skirt of the same colour. I love wearing matching separates I think its such a fun way to wear  colour, it has the same effect as wearing a knit sweater with the same coloured jacket. To add some interest I added this houndstooth print coat which makes any outfit look more fashionable because of the loud print (and you guys know how much i love houndstooth). For some warmth I added this black (faux) fur hat which adds a sort of elegance to the outfit. I felt slightly like a palace guard while wearing it but I love it anyway !

As for my New Year celebration I just went to dinner with my boyfriend and my family, we then walked around looking at the pretty Christmas lights in the city and finished the night off by watching the fireworks at Nathan phillips square ! If you want to see my vlog from the night click here ! I had an amazing time, it was pretty low key compared to what people usually do on new years but it was a great night. I hope you had an amazing new years eve ! and an amazing new year to come. This year I plan on surrounding myself with positive energy, I am a strong believer that what you put out into the world is what you'll get back. If you put out Negative energy/thoughts into the world you will see the world in a much darker light than it really is. By putting out positive vibes you will see the world as a much happier place. Even in a difficult situation you can choose to be miserable about it or you can find the positive aspect of the situation so make it a bit better. I have always been a positive person but in 2017 I am going to make a point to surround myself with people who also choose to see the positives in life and not dwell on the negatives. I also plan on venturing out of my comfort zone a lot this year, I find that I play it safe most of the time and this year I want to experience new things not only fashion wise but also creatively (thought my blog and youtube) and in life experiences. Can't wait to see what the new year brings!  What are your new years resolutions??
