Shopping along the Seine

My third day in Paris and it was the day I was looking forward to the most during my trip! It was the day I got to go to Versailles !!  However I’ll be posting an entire blog post dedicated to my visit in the next day or two!. I started the day by walking by the Eiffel Tower. I wasn’t planning on getting this close to it but the office of the tour guide that was taking us to Versailles happened to be in the area. However I also happened to walk by Rue de l' Université, it was filled with people (Influencers) taking pictures. I remember coming here on my last trip and it was EMPTY, but this time around it was packed. I guess that’s the power of social media, everyone takes the same photos haha. I figured I would get a photo anyway because the view of the Eiffel Tower is beautiful from this street (basic I know…). If you’ve never been to Paris I would say this is as close as I would get to the Eiffel Tower….in my opinion the Eiffel Tower looks better further away than right at the base.

After taking photos I stopped by a cafe and had an Americano because we were a bit early to meet the tour guide that was taking us to versailles... And then we were off! I can’t even begin to tell you the excitement I felt going to Versailles! But I’ll get more into it in my next blog post! I did however get a nice photo of the Eiffel Tower from the car.

Upon returning from Versailles, we took a walk by the Seine RIVER between the Louvre and Notre Dame where they have all those stands with paintings, Illustrations, old books, old magazines and other small items. This was one of the highlights of my trip last time I came to Paris. It was the place where I bought my first vintage magazine!  Truthfully I had never held a vintage magazine until I came to Paris a few years ago. How things have changed ! Now I go to antique markets weekly. I did a bit of shopping and browsed through all of the stands. I may have bought a vintage magazine… or two… or three. And I even found a little tiny vintage doll! Don’t worry I’ll be posting a haul form my trip on my Youtube channel once my travel videos are up!

While shopping a took a break and had another Americano, French fries and a lemon tart (I only have a photo of the coffee with the table bread, sorry!) I continued walking until night fall. Overall it was a great day, a busy morning and a relaxing afternoon by the Seine river.
