My New Haircut !

I have never been one to experiment with my hair (except for that one time when I was five and thought it would be a good idea to cut my own hair... yikes) I feel like i've had the exact same haircut my whole life, but in various lengths. For the most part my hair has been long and if I do cut it a bit shorter it's to make my ends healthier and then I let it grow back out again.  I decided it was time for a change and after weeks of contemplating and looking at at a million inspiration images (shoutout to pinterest) I decided i wanted to get bangs ! i've had bangs in the past but they were the classic side bangs everyone had in 2007, you know the super thick-covers your whole face-scene bangs (it's not a phase mom !) This time I wanted something a little more femenine and Parisian, i've been really into 70's french style lately and Jane Birkin was one of the main reasons I wanted to get bangs. I was so scared to get them because bangs are such a huge decision and depending on how they are cut they can make or break a look. So I decided to go to Blyss salon in Yorkville in Toronto because I trusted that they would do an amazing job! and I was right !  Alyson cut them perfectly, she completely got what I was trying to go for! (check out her instagram here)  I really wanted the bangs to be wispy and see through and that is exactly how they turned out ! I couldn't be happier and I feel like a completely new person :) Some of the images are still from the video vlog i did when i got my hair cut, if you want to check it out click here!

Casual Friday: plaid skit and red backpack

Ah plaid skirts, its just one of those things that makes me feel a sort of childish happiness.  if you've been following me for a while you know i LOVE plaid skirts i have probably about 30 different coloured ones because i am constantly wearing them haha. This particular outfit gave me such clueless vibes with the plaid and the backpack (one of my favourite movies by the way). i tried to pull all the colours from the skirt into the rest of the outfit with the white sweater, red backpack, and navy tights.  i have actually never been a fan of cropped sweater i never really understood the purpose because i would normally just tuck in the sweater into the skirt to cinch in my waist but i actually really love the cropped sweater with this skirt it gives it a more careless look while still looking put together. But as much as i love the sweater at times the wind got a little bit cold so a blazer was needed, i just wore this sorta oversized navy  blazer as a coat and of course topped it off with a brooch !

Pale rose bomber

Here is another look featuring a bomber jacket, i still feel slightly weird wearing one because i am not sure if i can really pull it off, its not something that i would normally grab. I got this one from H&M while i was in florida at the end of the summer because i was so drawn to this pretty pale rose colour but it actually comes in a variety of colours such as black, olive, deep red, gray and more! so there is something for everyone :) i wanted to pair it with something a little more elegant so i wore it over a white blouse with a black bow tie for a feminine touch. Being me i avoid wearing pants so i put on these black shorts with tights and of course little black patent heels. For some sparkle i grabbed this silver clutch which i think was the perfect colour to pair with black, white and pink. I hope you all had a wonderful start to your week :)

The best time wear a striped sweater

As a wise person once said (...sang) "The best time to wear a striped sweater is all the time" and this particular one is so perfect for any season it can be layered for a cold day or worn on its own when its a bit warmer. I think that is one of the best things about fall (besides the quality of light and the pretty colours on the trees) is that there are warm days and then there are cold days so it really allows for a range of different outfits you can wear. I don't think i would be able to live somewhere where it's constantly hot such as LA because i would get bored of the warm weather and would want to wear coats and hats, Although i could live without -40 weather haha.  Some people really love summer and going to the beach all the time but it's just not for me, i don't even think i could go on a tropical vacation at a resort  for a week i would be so bored after a few days. I am the type of person who has to constantly be doing something i love exploring and learning new things as well as i have a huge appreciation for architecture so going anywhere that has beautiful buildings is like a dream vacation for me. But for now i am enjoying the changing seasons at home and looking through my closet at pieces i haven't worn since last fall such as all my berets. You have probably already noticed my huge love for berets, i just think they are the perfect type of hat! i have probably collected over 30 different coloured ones that i will wear non stop all winter and fall. i can't wait to share all of them with you ! :) As well, i am cutting my hair this week so make sure to follow me on instagram to see my story of how i cut it ! Might come out looking like a different person ;)
