Milkshake

We are headed into the second week of February and hopefully getting a bit closer to the start of spring, it feels like this winter had been a never ending winter (non)wonderland. With frigid temperatures and mountains of snow I've had no choice but to stay inside and hibernate. As a person who loves to do things and be active (I don't mean sports... lol I just mean I like activities and doing things) I find it incredibly hard to stay inside looking for things to do all day. On days I do go outside I end up hopping from coffee shop to the mall and thats pretty much it. This has lead to me drinking way too much coffee a day  and excess shopping lol. With all the new Items I purchased this winter (Check out my January haul, all about the things I found during the Zara sale !  Link here) I had to do a wardrobe clear out, while doing this I realized how many things I rarely wear or have only worn once. This is a problem in many ways, not only financially but it also on the effects that fast fashion and fabric pollution causes on the enviorment. I also noticed that some of my most worn pieces are older pieces that I've had for years or items I thrifted. I think this is due to them being a bit more unique, which I think is the direction that I want my closet to go in.  I always want to try new things when it comes to fashion, whether its a certain style or trend but I always end up regretting it or not liking it as much and I revert back to my usual girly/dated clothes. I love clothes that look like they are from a different decade without them looking like a costume. I think women who commit to dressing in a particular decade every day are admirable and it takes a lot of confidence and commitment. I personally prefer to mix older styles with some modern pieces to create a modernized version of that look. I always fall back into the 50's/60's, those are my main decades of interest.  I am open to the 40's/70's and sometimes the 20's, although I find it a bit harder to reference on a day to day basis. This particular outfit I am wearing is definitely a 1950's style look with the fit an flare dress. This dress is from Romwe and it is the Embroidered mesh overlay circle dress (Link here), I think the colour is beautiful and perfect for spring, and  the sheer white sleeves are such a nice detail that you don't normally see in dresses.  I paired the dress with a thick white belt so cinch in the waist and added a white bow to my ponytail. This whole look got my really excited to explore more with vintage fashion, Let me know what you guys think of this outfit in the comments below !
