1920's inspired Outfit

As I mentioned in one of my first posts of the year, I'm really interested in experimenting with vintage styles and clothing. I've always looked to the past to get my outfit inspiration but I am trying to find ways to wear these styles without it looking like a costume. I wore this 1920's inspired look to brunch and I thought it was the perfect mix of modern pieces and vintage design. I wore this cream blouse that has an art deco print on it, which we all know was all the rage in the roaring 20's. For the skirt I just wore a simple pleated black skirt, which were very popular at the time. My skirt is not as long as they would've traditionally worn it in the 20's but elements like this is what prevents the look from looking like a costume, just something to keep in mind. As for my coat I decided to go for a more fitted streamline coat which isn't as typical for the time, in the 1920's they wore a more oversized fit but streamline coats were the main silhouette . To give the coat a more 1920's look I added this (Faux) fur scarf over the coat (Yes believe it or not the fur and the coat did not come as a set lol I got them at two different stores.) As for shoes I wore these T-strap mary janes which were typical of the time. And of course no 1920's look would be complete without a cloche hat and a long pearl necklace so of course I had to add those in as well. I hope you like this look, let me know if you would be interested in seeing some more vintage inspired posts like this one!

I've recently starting watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon, and I love all the 1950's costumes they wear. I'd love to see your take on 1950's fashion!
