Lazy Days

It is the week between christmas and new years... a week of laziness, shopping and spending time with friends! At least thats how my week has been! i went boxing day shopping on the weekend (if you want to see my haul click here!) and this whole beginning of the week has been lazying around during the day and seeing friends at night.
We had been so blessed with the weather all of december and two nights ago we got a snow storm followed by rain...needless to say it is all slush outside. i don't mind the cold in the winter its the snow and slush i cant stand, it really limits what shoes i can wear outside. This is why i have opted for staying inside in comfy knit sweaters and watching movies.

New years eve is tomorrow and i am unsure of how i feel about this year coming to an end, i had a great year filled with laugher and adventure. i am hoping 2016 bring more amazing memories and opportunities. I also hope you are all blessed with and even more wonderful year <3
well... i am off to find something sparkly for tomorrow!

Almost Christmas time

Christmas is only a few days away and my excitement level is through the roof!!  i can't wait to spend time with family and eat tons of delicious food! like these candy canes which i will never be able to finish... well... at least not in one sitting haha. all week i am going to be pulling out all of my red headbands (i have sone with massive bows... don't judge) i have all my presents wrapped under the tree and i am thinking of doing a little bit of christmas baking tomorrow :)
in this outfit i decided to keep it in a very small palette, red blue and white. which is  one of my favourite colour combinations! the temperature has been very warm for this time of year... although the past couple of days have been rainy. Many people have been complaining that they cant get into the christmas spirit without snow but i think that the christmas spirit comes from within and i am definitely in a spirited mood! christmas eve/day photos to come! as well as a what i got for christmas post!

Primary Colours at Christmas Time

With christmas being roughly about a week away i am running around getting some last minute things together... things such as chocolate boxes, gift bags/boxes/wrapping paper and all those little things we don't really think at the start of the holiday season. i am 11/12 people done my christmas shopping but by the end of the weekend i will be completely done and my gifts will also probably be wrapped and under the tree. i feel like this holiday season has gone by so fast and i haven't had much time to enjoy it as much as i wanted to, But since it is the last week before christmas i plan to make the best of it by watching Christmas movies, baking cookies and drinking hot chocolate :)

As i have mentioned before red is one of my favourite colours to wear... particularly this time of year!!  for this outfit i opted for primary colours... i had to force myself to not wear wear red and green together this time of year to avoid looking like a walking christmas tree. i figured as long as i have the colour red in there and incorporate a plaid it still looks festive :)  although a red headband with a bow is a christmas necessity!

Room tour 2015

This is part 1 of a series about home decor i am always interested in the way people decorate their own rooms, and seeing what kind of atmosphered they create for themselves. i personally love a pink room (mostly because i know i will never be able to have a pink room once i am married hahah) My room is filled with flowers and fashion accessories, the girliest atmosphere you can think of haha :)

Polka dots and Checkers

As a rule of thumb i tend to not mix prints together mainly because i find it distracting and most of the time prints don't really  match, in my eyes anyway. But of course there are moments where every rule is broken, this outfit is a small step in that direction my blouse has a very minimalistic polka dot print which from far away is not very noticeable. i paired it with a simple red skirt and black blazer with leather detailing. to create more interest i added a red and black checkered purse which i think worked very well alongside the polka dot blouse. i also attached a white pom pom to bring in a bit more white to the outfit.

Since it is december i find it hard to stray away from wearing the colour red maybe its my love for  christmas or the colour red... not too sure. The weather here has still been on and off we haven't had any snow yet, which i am totally ok with.... i only really like snow on christmas eve and christmas day anyway. I find that it limits from what shoes you can wear outside because you don't want to ruin your nice shoes with slush or the salt. We are only 3 weeks away from christmas and about 60% done my christmas shopping which hopefully i can finish by the end of next week!

Checkered scarves

I think we can all agree that once december rolls around  we all try to incorporate the colour red into our wardrobe. i tend to do this mostly through accessories like scarves or shoes.... that is until a few days before christmas were i tend to wear obnoxiously red outfits (i love Christmas ok...). Plaid scarves are a winter staple and i don't know a single person who doesn't own at least one plaid scarf, most often than not plaid scarves incorporate the colour red into their patters. As much of a plaid scarf fanatic as i am i also love its cousin the checkered scarf. This particular scarf has been my most worn scarf this year the colours are simply beautiful and i find that it matches a lot of different outfits.
These red ankle strapped mary janes are my favourite shoes i own i think they look so classic and i love the slight heel they have... when wearing them i almost feel like susan walker i the 1994 version of miracle on 34th street... which just so happens to be my favourite Christmas movie.

Pastel blue dreams

People often say that pastels are exclusively for the spring and summer but i think you can definitely work some pastel pieces into your  wardrobe to make it look very "winter-y." I have been wanting a baby blue coat for so long! (it was even on my christmas list!) but the problem is that you don't see very many of them in stores. so when i saw this one at forever 21 i snatched it up! i paired it with a blue skirt and tights because i found that black would look too harsh against the light blue colour. while looking through my scarf drawer i came across this pink and blue scarf i bought a couple of years ago when i put it beside the coat it was a match made in heaven! The blue in the scarf is different enough that it doesn't look like i am trying to perfectly match the shades.
To neutralize the outfit a bit i opted for a white chiffon blouse with some ruffles and a tie up bow for a touch of femininity. since it has been a little bit colder lately i wanted to incorporate a hat and this camel beret was a perfect choice!
