Gris

Hello! I hope you are having an amazing day! I have another outfit for you guys and I hope it gives you a bit of inspiration!....now this is a bit of a different outfit for me, I'm normally not a tight fitting dress sort of girl (Not that this is super tight fitting). But I wanted to try something new and different!  I've been really inspired by Dita Von Teese lately... I mean who isn't! She wears the most beautiful dresses and exudes femininity and sensuality while being covered up (Unless she's on stage lol)
Like I said I don't have many dresses in this style, but I really wanted to try it out, so I went shopping ! I found this one at the thrift store, It's originally from Banana republic and its in a medium grey colour. I added a black belt to cinch in the waist a little bit more.... I don't know what it is about modern dresses but they can't seem to make the waist small enough to actually be form fitting....If I compare it to my vintage dresses its like night and day!
I also added a vintage hat that has a big bow at the back and some sheer black gloves. For shoes I wore my classic T-strap heels and grabbed a 1950s black handbag. I really wanted to keep the rest of the accessories vintage so that it would make the whole outfit look more 1940s even if the dress is modern. You don't always have to wear true vintage from head to toe (Although that is the dream!) You can mix in modern pieces with vintage ones and it will do the trick, especially for day to day!  I wore this outfit to get coffee with my friend Richelle and I got tons of compliments walking around the city.

As to my thoughts on wearing tighter fitting dresses.... I'm not 100% convinced yet but I'm willing to give it another try. I think I would like it more if the dress had a pattern on it instead of it being a plain colour. I did wear a more tighter fitting dress when I went shopping in Yorkville (Blog post here!) but that dress had a bit of a peplum shape and sequins at the front so it was much more youthful and more my style! so it felt like a more natural transition. I still think this outfit is great for day to day wear and I'll probably wear it again! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Also if you want to see more fo this look and other looks I posted an outfits of the week video on my youtube channel this week and you don't want to miss it!
