Glossy Summer Hair With Matrix Biolage

Every good hair style starts with a fresh base and that's exactly what you'll get from Matrix Biolage sugar shine shampoo and conditioner. It leaves your hair feeling and looking shiny which is perfect to match that summer tan! This shampoo and conditioner is also paraben and silicone free making it really gentle on the hair. The scent is sweet but not over powering... in my opinion it has a sort of cyrus cake smell mixed with that perfume you wanted to buy at the airport (Does anyone else always want to buy perfume at the airport?). It's a youthful scent but not the typical fruity ones you always find. I was also amazed at how shiny my hair looked from just one use! my hair was silky but not oily, which is a common problem with most shine shampoos/conditioners.

As someone who has bangs my blow drier is my best friend after a shower.  You have to automatically dry your bangs if you want them to look polished and not like you just walked through a tornado. This doesn't really give me much time to leave my hair up in towel, which is what helps take out the excess water. It's a constant struggle because the back of my shirt always ends up getting wet so I tend to blow dry the ends a bit so that the water doesn't drip, then I let the rest of my hair air dry. Since I do this every time I wash my hair I  try to protect it from any possible damaged and a great product for that is the Matrix Biolage Blowdry Glotion. It helps protect your hair from any heat tool but also tames any frizz or fly aways you might have. it's a nice light weight formula that doesn't weigh the hair down which is important to me because my hair tends to be a bit more on the flat side. it also smells great ! I'm not really sure how to describe it other than it smells like "greens", not in a beauty section at whole foods way, but in a walking through a garden on the perfect summer day way.

If you skip the blow dryer all together matrix has the perfect product for you it is the Biolage styling AiDry Glotion it helps to dry your hair a little bit faster and helps battle the frizz... which I personally have during the humid summer months. This product is a life saver when you need to quickly run out the door after washing your hair and don't have time to dry/style it. It wont miraculously transform your hair or make you look like you came out of the hair salon but it definitely adds a nice glossy finish to the hair. This product is perfect for travelling because who wants to spend time blowdrying and styling their hair when an adventure awaits!

If you want some extra shine you can always try the Matrix Biolage sugar shine illuminating mist !  It helps to illuminate any fly aways or frizz you might have, as well as provides heat protection... I personally use it as a finishing touch after I've already styled my hair to give it a glossy finish.  It's also a great product to use on the ends of your hair after you've added dry shampoo giving your hair and overall freshly-washed look. This is the same scent as the shampoo and conditioner so it has that lovely cyrus cake/Airport perfume scent. My hair has never looked this shiny so if you haven't tried any of these products I highly recommend them !

Visiting the HMCS Haida

Hi Guys, its finally Friday ! I've had such an odd week this week, it was jam packed with activities as well as blog/youtube planning so i feel like I haven't really had any downtown.... which is probably a good thing lol I get bored really easily. I have a really exciting post for you guys today because in the beginning of the week I had the opportunity to visit the HMCS Haida, a ship that served in the royal Canadian Navy from 1943-1963. Participating in the Second World War, the Korean Conflict and The Cold War. The Ship is now anchored down in Hamilton, Ontario and has been turned into a museum. The entrance fee is only a few dollars and its definitely worth the trip to see it!  You get to freely walk about the ship and go up and down the ladders, as they would've at the time. Thankfully my dress wasn't super loose so I was fine going up and down the ladder, I was also really glad that I brought flats just in case because I quickly changed my shoes before boarding the ship. If you are wondering my dress is vintage, I got it at the Toronto vintage clothing market and my bag is also vintage, my shoes however, are from Payless lol. If you are interesting in visiting the historic site click the link here.  I added some (phone) photos below that I took while I was there so that you get an idea of what it's like. But as someone who loves the humanity aspect of history I think its really worth going and experiencing it for yourself. Sorry for the random historical post, I know I typically just talk about fashion but i wanted to show this experience with you and tell you about it in case one  of you guys is interested in going !

Polka Dots Polka Dots

Could this polka dot dress be more perfect for summer ?! It's a crisp white dress with the polka dots in every colour of the rainbow! I cant help but smile when wearing it. I got this dress form Metisu and it is the White contrast dots printed mini dress (Link here) I paired the dress with these light pink lace tights, which just gave the outfit some interest, as well as I added a light pink beret to match! I'm excited for the colder weather to arrive so I can start wearing colourful tights again. I keep seeing them everywhere for the fall and I have a feeling they will be a huge trend this year (You heard it here first!). And not to sound like a hipster... but I've been wearing colourful/printed tights for years!! but I'm excited to no longer get weird looks on the street when i wear them. As well as I'll be able to grow my already large collection of colourful tights lol. Let me know your thoughts on this look in the comments below !

Linen Dress

Its the start of another week, the last full week of July. It's crazy that the days are already starting to feel like they are getting shorter. My favourite thing about summer is the amount of daylight there is!  I hate that during the winter it starts getting dark at 3PM so you end up spending most of the day in darkness (And indoors...avoiding the cold) Right now I'm making a point to enjoy the summer as much as possible and not spend most of the day indoors. Today I wanted to show you this dress from Metisu and it is the white ribbon tied cutwork midi dress (Link here) It's perfect for a daytime stroll or to sit in a patio. As you guys know I love a good midi dress (or skirt) so this dress is no exception.  Midi dresses tend to have a lot of volume and flare to them which makes them really fun to wear (and twirl around in) This particular dress has these laser cutouts mixed in with the pattern which makes for a really intricate look. I paired the dress with some simple nude heels and a navy blue headband... which can we discuss how I haven't worn a headband in forever ? I used to wear them ALLL the time! It's crazy how things change over time, you don't really notice it day to day but after a while when you look back, things can be completely different. Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments below!

Green Striped Dress

Hi Guys happy Friday ! Today I wanted to show you a this amazing green and white striped dress! I recently got it from the kids section at Zara (LOL) I think its so pretty and perfect for the summer. I layered the dress over a white puffy sleeve - Big collar blouse that is also from Zara. I felt so childlike and happy in this dress, which the feeling I look for in summer dresses. Now that I think of it I kinda look like I work in an ice cream parlour... but I'm ok with that. I paired the dress with my (Beloved) white Go-Go boots that give any outfit a 60's vibe. for accessories I simply tied my hair with a white ribbon and added some silver circle earrings. Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments below !

1950s Candy Shop

I've been waiting for a nice summer day to finally wear this dress ! I got this dress from Joanie  and it is the Jean Striped Shirt dress (Link here... Currently on SALE!) Technically according to the website it is red but it actually is pink and white stripes ... which i personally prefer! It does come in other colours if you are interested!  I wore this dress in Niagara on the lake yesterday which a small town near Niagara Falls. Their downtown area is a strip of stores, restaurant, hotels and even an old theatre! it's really picturesque area of town (Actually the whole town is) But I highly recommend going if you've never been. While shopping I spotted this candy shop which had a 1950's look to it so of course I had to stop and take come pictures. As for the rest of my outfit I grabbed this vintage straw like bag that I got at an antique market, its so sweet and it reminds me of something a grandma would carry. I also wore some simple pink toned nude kitten heels that I got from target ages ago, and of course I added a Bow to my ponytail to complete the look. Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments below !
