Gingham and Red

Spring has me pulling out all of my midi skirts!  I've always had a soft spot for midi skirts but for the past few weeks I've been obsessed ! I recently got a few new plaid pleated ones that I know I wont be able to wear till the fall...sigh (If you want to see a haul click here) but with that in mind I decided it was time to add a new midi skirt to my spring/summer wardrobe. During my search for the perfect skirt I came across this gingham one from Romwe and I instantly fell in love!  It is the Gingham Single breasted skirt (Click here), The black and white gingham print is perfect because it can be combined with pretty much every colour, which makes it really versatile for the spring and summer. I decided to keep it simple and I paired it with a floral print blouse, that is also from Romwe but unfortunately is currently sold out. I did however find this beautiful white blouse that I think would look beautiful with this gingham skirt, it is the Lace crochet contrast neck blouse. To add some colour I added a red coat from Zara and small red handbag that I found at winners about a year ago! Let me know what you guys think of this look down below!

Magnifying Glass

Hi Guys!  I feel like it's  been forever since I've talked to you guys, even tho its only been a week it still feels like a lifetime ! I've been a little behind on posting lately for a few reason, one being the extreme cold weather that doesn't seem to go away (Ugh..) and the other is that I've been a little stuck on the type of content I want to post. For a while I've been posting very similar content every week and it become a little static (at least for me) I didn't feel like I was putting enough creativity into the posts because I was more focused on putting outfits together. As some of you may know I have a Bachelors Degree in Photography and it was slightly killing me that I wasn't able to get really creative with my photoshoots. I really want to incorporate some more conceptual posts into my blog at at least apply some more creative aspects to my photoshoots. I don't think my blog reflects how creative I can be and I think it would be fun to bring some of that out to create some more interesting images. Some of my favourite posts I've posted have been ones where I've used self timer and shot them by myself because it allows me to take my time and try different things, like this one. Some of my other favourites are Red and Audrey and 25 Random facts about me. As for this post I had a lot of fun shooting with the magnifying glass, I think it brought in a really nice element to the pictures and it matched the style of the sweater really well. The sweater is from Shein and it is the Sailor Collar Varsity Sweater Coat (link here). The sweater is a recent addition to my wardrobe and I think its such a unique piece that you don't really see in stores very often. I paired the sweater with a plaid cream skirt from winners and my cream beret. It definitely emphasized the sailor look. I hope you guys like this style of photos, let me know if its something you would want to see more of. As as I've been a little more active on my youtube channel!  if you guys want to check it out click here!

Comparing Dry Shampoos

Dry shampoo has become a must have in every girls beauty cabinet, I will even go as far as saying its probably everyones most used hair product. I know at least for me its the product I grab the most and I don't know how I survived my teen years without it (Actually I know how... baby powder lol ) I thought I would test out some dry shampoos to see which one was the best. Seeing as I am constantly buying dry shampoo I decided to test out drugstore dry shampoos because they are much more affordable!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Starting out with my favourite dry shampoo Batiste, its probably the dry shampoo you've heard of the most and has become a sort of cult favourite. I think it does an amazing job and makes my hair look fresh while still feeling touch-ably soft. My only issue with batiste dry shampoo is the scents I find them to be too strong and artificial thus I start associating the scents with 3 day old hair lol. One of the other downsides is that it does have a white residue to it and I find that I really have to work to sink it into my hair but eventually it does.  Aside from that I think its a great product and at an amazing price, it ranged from $6-$9 depending on where you buy it from. This is the dry shampoo I have been using for years and am currently using.

Klorane Dry Shampoo
I recently reviewed french beauty products on my youtube channel (link here.) One of those products was this dry shampoo by the french brand Klorane. I LOVE this product and I think it works really well but if I am being honest its probably on the same level as other dry shampoos on this list on efficiency. What does make this product stand out is the scent !  The scent feels more luxurious and clean out all of the other dry shampoos on this list. something to keep in mind is that the dry shampoos scent normally doesn't linger so its up to you if you want to spend the extra money just to have that extra "feature". I bought this dry shampoo at the drugstore for $18 but I have seen it online at a much higher price (which is shocking) so maybe check your local drugstore first.

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo
I really wanted to like this dry shampoo mainly because I have used the shampoo and condition from this same scent for years. But it just... wasn't...good lol It didn't really do anything in my hair, it looked the same after using it. I could also feel that there was product in my hair which I hate. I thought maybe the scent would be its saving grace...but no it doesn't smell  like the scent of the shampoo it smells like unscented hair aerosol products mixed with alcohol and a bit of baby powder (Not the best)  It also probably leaves the most white residue on brown hair out of all the other dry shampoos on this list. This was a really affordable dry shampoo it was around $5.. but I wouldn't recommend it.

Marc Anthony Invisible Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo is my second favourite on the list, its a little closer to the $10 price point which is really reasonable for a good drugstore dry shampoo.  I do like the coconut smell its very fresh and reminds me of being on vacation (always a plus) . I do like that it barely has any white residue on the hair, which if you are a brunette you will  think is awesome ! I think it does a great job when it is initially applied but I dont think that it holds up very well throughout the day and I end up having to re-apply.  If you have no issued doing that then I definitely recommend  this product!

Marc Anthony clear dry Shampoo
Another Marc Anthony dry shampoo, this one was a bit disappointing especially compared to the one previously mentioned. This is again in the $10 price range which is great!  And I do love that it goes on clear I think more dry shampoos should do that because it sucks when you get a white cast all over your hair (Sigh) but overall it didn't do much to my hair and I could feel the texture that the dry shampoo left behind, and I'm not into that.  I say if you are going to buy a Marc Anthony dry shampoo go with the coconut one.

Garnier Fructis Dry Shampoo
Ending the list off with my least favourite dry shampoo. This did nothing for me, if anything it made my hair looks worse and a little sticky.  It does have a fresh melon-y sort of smell which I appreciate but thats probably its only redeeming quality. My hair has never reacted well to Garnier products so I am not surprised that this didn't work well for me but if Garnier products work well on your hair it might be worth giving it a try.

Those are my reviews on some popular drugstore Dry shampoos let me know if you've tried one of these products or which dry shampoo is your favourite !

Colourful Fur

Spring is right around the corner and I can't wait to bring out all of my spring clothes, and be able to spend more time outside without freezing. There are still a few winter pieces that I didn't have an opportunity to wear this year so I am pulling them out for the last few days of winter. One of them being this colourful (Faux) fur scarf that I LOVEEE!!  when I saw it in Simons I knew I had to have it ! I think it is such a statement piece that you don't see very often. I kept the rest of the outfit simple and let the scarf do the talking!  I am wearing a cropped cream coloured sweater from Forever 21 and a pair of black high waisted shorts from Zara. As for my coat, I just wore this navy military coat form H&M that you guys have seen me wear probably like 100 times lol its one of the most worn pieces in my closet. Let me know what you think of this look in the comments! as well as i recently went to the Zane Barlas fashion show during Toronto Mens Fashion week and I vlogged it for my youtube channel if you want to see it check it out here!

What I Wore in Peru

OUTFIT 1
The first outfit that I wore was one of the comfiest outfits out of the whole trip !  These culotte style pants from Zara are going to be one of my go to pants this spring/summer. They match practically any colour and are really light and comfortable to wear!  I paired them with a red Vogue t-shirt and some black kitten heels!

OUTFIT 2
The second outfit was a bit more girly and believe it or not this is actually not a dress!  I got this skirt a few years ago from Brandy Melville and I paired it with this polka dot top my mom didn't wear anymore ! They just happen to match perfectly ! I added a red bow in my hair for a pop of colour !

OUTFIT 3
My addiction for anything gingham continues ! I Wore this rose applique gingham top from Romwe, I love the big ruffle sleeves I think its such a girly detail ! These shorts are my go-to denim shorts from Zara, I like that they are a bit on the shorter side but not too short.

OUTFIT 4
The fourth outfit is one of my favourites, its something I know I'll be wearing a lot this summer, its such and easy outfit and these overalls match practically anything ! I got this overalls on black Friday from Simons, I had been on the hunt for a pair of simple denim overalls and I'm so glad I found some (And at a great price!) The red polka dot shirt I'm wearing is thrifted !

OUTFIT 5
Ah this dress, its one of my favourites dresses and probably the oldest dress I own. This dress was actually mine when I was 7! I did get it hemmed so that it would be a bit more on the shorter side. But you gotta love the oversized look in the 90's because this dress still fits me ! For a bit more colour I added this silk scarf in my hair !

OUTFIT 6
This is probably the most casual look of the bunch ! I am wearing this "influencer" T-shirt from Bershka, I paired that with the same denim shorts from the 3rd outfit. For some interest I added a red bandana to my hair. While in Peru I purchased this straw bag which I thought matched this outfit perfectly !

OUTFIT 7
The last outfit !  I am wearing this amazing smock dress from Romwe  I got this dress last summer and I didn't have many opportunities to wear it so I'm glad I was able to wear it when I was in Peru. I wore the dress with a simple pair of black heels and a red ribbon in my hair.

Pastels in Winter

I cant believe its already march, its crazy how fast the year is going !  The arrival of march always gets me excited for spring and I start to think that I can wearing some spring pieces. But in reality it is still way too cold, it doesn't actually get warm till mothers day all the way in May! Winter is a long and torturous time for me (LOL so dramatic Carolina) so I thought I would bring some spring colours to brighten up the last of these winter days. Today I am wearing this amazing matching set from Shein its a long midi skirt with a little crop top, very reminiscent of the 1950's. it is the Zip back plaid crop top and skirt set (Link here), I love the colour and bold print!  The fact that its a matching set makes it that much more versatile because it can be worn together or separate to make 2 other outfits. Since it isn't warm enough to wear it on its own I decided to layer it with this pastel yellow coat from Zara and and a beige beret (That I stole from my bestie Adrienne).  Let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments below!
