Baroque

In daily life I feel like we don't get many opportunities to dress up in extravagant dresses, which is a shame because there are so many beautiful dresses out there and not enough occasions to wear them. I've been really into watching time piece movies, they are one of my favourite kinds of movies to watch. I am so interested in the clothes they wear and how different their lifestyle was from ours. So when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it !  It is the Contrast fit and flare Embroidered Mesh dress  from Shein.  It looks so regal and elegant and it reminds me of something from the boroque era (one of my favourite eras, rococo being my favourite... but I mean who's isn't) The top part of the dress is made up of this thick Champagne coloured lace and the whole bottom part is made up of black tulle and and the bottom finishes off with the same lace. I paired the dress with a simple pair of strappy shoes from Agaci. I also added a gold metal headband which resembles a small tiara... hey if you are going to put on a princess dress you might as well go full out ! I've actually been really into metal headbands lately, especially ones with pearls and sparkly gems, I just think they look so pretty and can really elevate an outfit ! :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead!  its my boyfriend and I's anniversary tomorrow so make sure follow me on instagram so see what we're up to !

Doily

I've always loved anything vintage and get most of my fashion inspiration from elderly ladies I see walking around the city (I see all you fashionable grandmas and I love you, keep doing your thing!) I find that previous generations had a much stronger emphasis on personal presentation and made sure to look their best before leaving the house. Now a days you can go outside in leggings and a baggy sweater and no one will even notice or look twice (no judgment, you do you ! if you love your leggings you wear them!)  But I've always loved the idea of dressing up and looking your best even when going to the grocery store, it was something my grandma would always say when I was growing up. I'm not sure when that become such a dated mentality, probably around the same time doilies lost their popularity. That being said I'm still a big doily fan so when I saw this lace shirt on the Shein website I knew I had to have it ! it is the White Lace Mock Neck Blouse and it is honestly the most perfect lace shirt, since it is all made up of lace It doesn't have a liner so I just wore it with a nude tank top underneath, which is my favourite way to wear these kinds of shirts. I paired it with this camel coloured skirt from H&M  and this thin houndstooth coat from H&M as well. I've been wearing this coat on repeat since I got it back in the fall and I keep finding different ways to wear it, it matches everything ! I hope you guys are having a great week! Make sure to follow me on instagram for more day to day pictures to see what i'm up to ! :)

Light pink dress and pearl Bag

Statement bags have been everything for me lately, I find myself constantly looking for new and unique bags to add to my wardrobe. This particular pearl shaped bag is from a small boutique by the St Jacob's farmers market (about 2 hours outside of Toronto)  I find that sometimes you don't have to spend a lot of money to get something different/unique. I know this bag would look perfectly with this light pink dress from Metisu, which in my opinion is the perfect spring dress. I am obsessed with the metal flower detailing on the collar and the beautiful pearl at the top of the bow that ties around the collar. Light pink is such a perfect colour for the spring and its so easy to wear. This dress makes me feel so feminine and would be perfect for a date. I paired this dress with these taupe strappy heels and a ruffled hair clip which just adds to the girly-ness of the outfit.  I hope you guys have a great rest of your week ! :)

Same Coat: Two looks!

With Springs arrival my wardrobe starts to get lighter in colours. Which I am excited about because i was getting a bit bored of the darker hues. With that in mind I put together two looks using the same coat! This light pink coat is from H&M and I love the pale light pink colour I think its a great piece for spring because it matches so many different outfits. For the first look I went for something a little more casual with a cream turtleneck from Le Chateau and this grey plaid skirt from Forever 21. You guys know how much I love plaid skirts its a shame I didn't get a chance to wear that many of them this year but I recently purchased this grey one and I couldn't wait to wear it ! I finished the look off with a cream coloured backpack from Zara . This look gave me such "90's-going to school-clueless vibes" and I absolutely love it ! For the second outfit I went for something a bit more feminine and elegant. I wore this cream lace dress that has a ruffle detail at the front of the dress (my favourite part) and I grabbed this light grey bag that has all of these roses made out of the satin fabric, it is one of my favourite bags because its so dainty and girly. I topped the look off with a cream beret!  and little heels of course! I hope you guys like these looks ! Whats your favourite way to wear light pink ?

Maroon

Ah Wednesdays the middle of the week, I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. With this start of spring on monday I've been doing a bit of reorganizing in my room and adding some new decorations to liven things up a bit. It's always nice to add new things or change things around every few months, i don't know why but it's just something i've always done. I've not one to constantly re decorate my whole room, I just like to change things around here and there! Let me know if you guys would be interested in seeing the changes I made :)
But speaking of changes, the weather is slowly changing and its starting to become a bit warmer outside. Which means I am able to wear my varsity jackets! I never thought I would be one to wear varsity jackets but I am honestly obsessed with then I think they are so cute! This particular jacket is from Zara and I got it at the end of their sale for $19 ! it was such a steal ! I layered it over this chunky knit turtleneck sweater from Forever 21  and high waisted pants from Garage. It is mosre of a  casual outfit you can wear to hang out or grab a coffee.  I think my favourite part of the outfit is the shoes! I got these patent derby shoes from H&M  and I am obsessed with them ! They are so much fun and super comfortable to wear and of course a great addition to a super casual outfit.
